Introduction

Hello, you must have just started playing this server. This is a custom Stranded server, so there should be a bit ( a lot) more changes then vanilla Stranded. As such, a lot of things in the guide are subject to change anyways and more things will be added. This guide will help you on becoming as experienced in the server so you don't have to keep bothering people for help.

The basics

In the Stranded mod, there are 4 things you need to keep up. Hunger, thirst, fatigue, and health. There is another bar for oxygen, but that's only when you are in water. If your hunger, thirst, or fatigue is 0 you lose 2 health every 2 seconds.

When your health is 0, you will die. It's one of the difficult things to earn back because you need to cook meat, which you get from killing zombies/antlions or make medicine.

To get your hunger higher, you need to eat anything, like cooked food and various fruit, IE; bananas, watermelons, oranges, and berries.

Thirst is very easy to fill up because all you need to do is go inside a body of water and press use multiple times. You can also gain thirst by drinking bottled water (Press use while not in the water to get) or eating berries. This is also the fastest bar that goes down.

To get fatigue back up, you need to sleep under a roof or you will lose 10 health every 2 seconds. This is the slowest bar that goes gown.

When your oxygen is 0, you lose 8 health every 2 seconds. Now, this is quite simple, you must go above water to prevent this.

Also, there is a power meter, but that's when you have a flashlight or a future object. To long-ate the power meter bar, you need more batteries when you have a flashlight.

Commands and other where tos

Before you start, you should know there are commands and interfaces to keep you company along your journey in this server. F1 is used to see your skills and F2 shows your resources.

The C key

The C (context menu) key are used by players for a simpler time . The C key only shows basic commands, but you can right-click the resources in the resource pack to show what you can do to them. If you have seeds and look at the ground, you can click the seeds with C and it will plant for you. If you have berries or a water bottle, you can click on them and you will consume them. Right-clicking just shows more selections, like dropping 1, 10 or every resource you click.

The Q key

The Q (menu) key is used more than the C key for multiple reasons. You have to press Q to get props, which you build with your own resources. The menu next to it, is the tools! This is were you pick the different actions you can do with the tool gun. The next bar is the commands bar. This has more commands than the basic and all the planting commands there too. The next menu bar is Prop Protection. If you click on the boxes to the left, it shows who can access your stuff and who can't, useful for quick trades too, but make sure they are far away from your base.

Basic Surviving

Now, as you know, this is the Stranded mod! There is one thing, and one thing you must do, and that is survive and be the best around because nothing feels better than being the best. Also, you could ignore that because nothing is better than following the rules, helping others, and being friendly to everyone!

Durability

This server also has durability. It's just on our pickaxes and axes, for now. You only really replace your wooden tools in the beginning because once you get stone, you can get a repair station and repair your tools there.

Finding a spot to stay

Now, if you don't have a friend or group to stay with, it's always important to stay in a spot to build and collectively get your resources. It's best to stay next to a rock and a body of water. You will have to move around to get wood if you aren't a high enough level because trees can get chopped down fast.

Food

You might notice your hunger bar is going down slowly, to fix that, you must forage for seeds and plant them! To do this, just press E (or whatever is your use key) on the ground and wait for a bit until you get seeds. As explained above in the commands, just look at the ground and plant them. Another way to get your hunger up is to find raw meat, which you get by killing monsters around you, and cooking it on a campfire.

Shelter

Well, shelter is a advanced term to put it, more like you need a roof above your head. When you don't sleep with a roof on your head, your health goes down by 10 every second, so you need about, 16 wood. Go to your props, by pressing q, and go to wooden, and find the the 16x16 flat wooden prop. Once you do that, you get a blueprint. This happens because in Stranded, you build up your buildings and props one resource at a time. Or multiple resources. Now you phys gun the prop to go above your head and you can sleep safe and sound. Better yet, get 10 more wood, and go under the sleeping furniture props, get the red couch, put it under the wooden prop, and your fatigue will go up 2 times faster. Make sure you hover your cross hair over the couch in order to use it, or you are on top of it.

Skills

Skills are one of the most important parts of Stranded and the main thing you will do in this server, leveling these skills. There are currently 12 skills as of right now. Every skill, except Stealing and Smelting, at level 34 just start to give you only 1 experience for each time you do something in that skill. Every time you level up, your backpack space increases by 5. The level cap for skills, except survival is 20,000 in this server.

Survival - To level this skill, you need to level the individual skills below, each individual skill you level, you get 20 experience. When you reach certain levels, you will be able to sprint all the time and gain more health. Your level in survival is your main level.

Cooking - This skill is leveled up by cooking on a stove/campfire. The higher it is, the more chances you will be successful in making your food. To cook faster, a Frying Pan would be ideal.

Fishing - This skill is leveled up by fishing for fish near on the water. To best level this skill up, you need bait because if you don't you will lose the fish most of the time. When you level it up enough, you will hardly miss a fish.

Harvesting - This skill is leveled up by either, harvesting the ground or your berries/grain. If you have a shovel and forage the ground, it makes it faster and easier to level up this skill. The higher your harvesting, the faster it will go and the less chances of failure.

Hunting - This skill is leveled up by killing the creatures that spawn in the server. Hunting doesn't give you anything extra for leveling up, it's only really leveled up because you need this skill to get weapons.

Lumbering - This skill is leveled up by chopping down trees. This skill levels up faster with a hatchet and as you get more hatchets, chopping trees will be faster. The higher level, the less chance of failing, but with a Diamond and Iron hatchet,  you hardly fail anyways.

Mining - This skill is leveled up by mining rocks in the world. This is one of the most essential skills in the game because mostly all the items you need to mine, and there are also a lot of ores in the game. This gets leveled up faster by a pickaxe and gets faster by having a higher tier of pickaxe.

Planting - You get this skill by planting seeds that you get by foraging the ground. The higher your planting level is, the faster you plant and in certain levels you get more fruits on your plant.

Smelting - You level this skill by smelting ores that you get from mining. The higher the level, the faster you smelt.

Stealing - This is only available at level 30, you level it higher by stealing props. This skill levels higher by stealing bigger things, not more valuable. A stone furnace takes longer than an iron furnace because it is bigger, so the larger an object is, the more experience and time.

Swimming - This skill makes you able to stay under water longer. You level it up by staying under water. The higher this skill is, the more you can stay inside the water. Good skill to level if it's a sea map and you want to sneak up on people. It increases every time your oxygen goes down a bit. Make sure you stay above when it is too low, or you will lose health.

Weapon crafting - To level up this skill, you basically craft tools. There is a more easy way, though. You could get water bottles, make them into urine and turn them into saltpetre in the "Gun chunks" structure. If you do it one by one, you will keep getting the same exp as you would anything else. Another way is going to your factory and turning stone into sand into glass, but that would take longer. Like Hunting, this skill is just to meet requirements on certain weapons and tools. When you are holding a wrench, it will craft tools faster.
